He revealed this in a video he shared on the official Twitter page for the Governor of Kaduna.
“Earlier this week, I submitted a sample for the Covid-19 test,” El-Rufai said in a video shared on Twitter on Saturday, 28 March.
“The result came in this evening, and I regret to say that it is positive.”
He added that he is already in self-isolation as prescribed by the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC). His deputy Governor, Hadiza Balarabe will continue to be in charge of controlling the spread of the virus in Kaduna state.
“I wish to appeal to the people of Kaduna State to continue to closely observe the preventive measures already announced,” El-Rufai said in the Twitter post.
