Early life and education
Nia Renee Hill was born in Los Angeles on the 2nd of June, 1969. As earlier mentioned, she was raised by her father after her parents got divorced. She grew up alongside siblings and step-siblings from her father’s new marriage. Her father was a talent manager in Hollywood, and this played a big role in getting Nia interested in entertainment.
She went to Greensville County High School in Virginia, where she was part of the drama troupe. After high school graduation, Nia Renee Hill went to Emerson College in Boston, where she majored in Media Arts. She graduated in 2000. Nia then went on to take a short fashion styling course in preparation for her foray into showbiz.
Career
In the year 2001, Nia began her journey in Hollywood as a casting assistant for the TV show The Education of Max Bickford. She followed this up with a role as a talent coordinator for The Chappelle’s Show in the year 2003. It, however, wasn’t until 2009 that she got her first acting role in the short flick, Carpool.
In the year 2011, she landed the role of Tasha Smyth in the TV series Lila, Long Distance. Nia’s acting was applauded, and that began the rise to fame of the young African-American actress. Divorce: A Love Story
In 2013, Nia made her film debut in the hugely successful TV film Divorce: A Love Story. It centers on Kenny and Robin, a recently divorced couple who were bad together but discovered they’re even worse apart and can’t seem to stay out of each others’ lives. The film allowed her to showcase her acting skills and comedic timing. Later that year, she starred as herself in the Sarah Silverman comedy special Sarah Silverman: Diva.

In the year that followed, Nia continued learning more about fashion and lifestyle, and then in 2014, she gained valuable experience while serving as a stylist in “Pizzazz: Where’s My Movie?”.
