Buhari, Osinbajo receive COVID-19 vaccine jabs live

President Muhammadu Buhari along with his Vice-president Prof. Yemi Osinbajo have received the AstraZeneca vaccine, a day after the Federal Government launched the vaccination exercise in the country.

The vaccine was administered to the President by his chief personal physician, Dr. Sanusi Raafindadi, in the presence of the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, and some members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

Shortly after President Buhari took the vaccine jab, Professor Osinbajo also received the vaccine which was also administered to him by his chief personal physician, Dr. Nicholas Audifferen.

On Friday, 5 March 2021 Nigeria commenced its COVID-19 vaccination, with a medical doctor, Dr. Cyprian Igong, of the National Hospital, Abuja, receiving the first jab of the AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine.

Meanwhile, on Monday, 1 March, the Nigerian government began an online registration of Nigerians interested in taking the COVID-19 vaccine. The first batch of the vaccine landed in the country on Tuesday, 2 March.

To register, visit the website and click on ‘COVID-19 Vaccination E-registration’ to register for the #COVID19 vaccination.
