Fierce rivals and Premier League powerhouses Manchester United and Liverpool will face each other two times in less than two weeks in January to set up a double dose of one of England’s finest fixtures.
Following the latest rounds of the FA Cup draw, Manchester United will face Liverpool in a fourth-round clash in the FA Cup. This is after they would have contended with the Premier League champions for three points in the Premier League on Sunday, 17 January 2021.

For the FA Cup fourth round, Liverpool will face Manchester United after thrashing Aston Villa youngsters last week. The two teams, however, have a date on Sunday in the Premier League with only a trip to Fulham for Manchester United separating the dual clash. Liverpool will also welcome Burnley to the formidable Anfield stadium in the same breath.
The congested English football schedule means that both Manchester United and Liverpool will play three matches in the space of six days. Whoever wins the FA Cup clash will face either Stockport/West Ham or Doncaster in the fifth round.
Other Premier League heavyweights face slightly less challenging FA Cup fourth round fixtures. Manchester City has a date with Cheltenham while Wycombe plays Tottenham. Chelsea will dig it out with Luton while Everton clash with Sheffield Wednesday and Brentford will try to stem Leicester’s might.
According to new arrangements (and as seen in Aston Villa’s case), the FA wants every club to adhere to the Cup schedule. This is even if they have to use only 14 players or their academy players even.
