Nigerian developer of ‘quoted replies’ gets a job during meeting with Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey

If you’ve ever used the ‘Quoted Replies’ handle on Twitter, you’ll be interested in this.

When Dara Oladosu was creating his Quoted Replies feature on Twitter, he probably did not think it would snowball into something this huge.

He stumbled upon the ability to copy a tweet’s link and search Twitter for the quotes of the tweets, then he used it to build his super useful feature.

But during a meeting yesterday, 8 November, which included Twitter founder, Jack Dorsey and Kayvon Beykpour, Twitter’s product lead, Dara was offered a job.

At this meeting, Dara’s work was discussed and Kayvon, who was fascinated with Dara’s work, offered him a job at Twitter in order to build a native quoted replies feature for the social media app.

Dara excitedly accepted the offer. Watch the video below.

Meanwhile, Jack had a very eventful first day in Nigeria, which he documented on his Twitter page.

First, he had dinner with some top personalities in Nigeria. Spot Toolz!

Then he had a meeting with the guys at CCHub.

While he was there, he was presented with a gift:

Next, he was at the University of Lagos where he met with students and staff members.

Then he was at Andela:

And he finally rounded up his day yesterday at Techpoint Nigeria.
