After returning to Nigeria with the runner-up title from the AfroBasket 2017, the MVP of the tournament Ike Diogu has shown that he is ready to serve the country. He had told the media:
“I’m happy that as a team we got to the final. It has been a worthy championship and I commend my teammates, the coaching crew and the Nigerian Basketball Federation board members led by Musa Kida for their belief in us. As for me, I want to assure all that I will make myself available in the bid for Nigeria to be at the 2019 World Cup in China. It is a task that we need to accomplish.”
