Nigerian singer Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, has purged his Instagram account, @wizkidayo, of all posts.
At the time of reporting, the account has over 8.2 million followers.
The singer has not advocated any reason for this move especially as his Twitter account is still in full swing. Perhaps he is following the footsteps of fellow singer Tiwa Savage, who previously deleted all posts on her Instagram account following her signing by Universal Music and then returned to the photo-sharing platform with a bang!
If this were the case, it’s plausible the account purging could be in anticipation of some big news. Or maybe not.
The singer, fondly called Starboy by fans may well be rebranding his image as did Burna Boy, who now uses his own Instagram account purely for promotion related activities.
Or it could be neither of these, Wizkid could well be taking some break from social media.
Whichever is the case, it’s all exciting! Time will reveal all.
