Pulse Alter Ego movie review (2017)
“Omotola’s first movie in three years, the producers have taken ample advantage of this known fact, hoping that Ekeinde’s fans are excited about her return,” Chibumga Izuzu writes for Pulse. But it is far from a lazy attempt to overburden the actress with the duty of carrying the film’s success on her back.
“The performances in the movie are believable and do a good job of creating awareness and passing the message intended by the producers.
“As Ada, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde immerses herself into the character and makes you believe that you’re watching a woman who is struggling to free herself of her demons.
“She convincingly portrays a vulnerability and strength that is relatable to victims of various addictions, including drugs, gambling amongst others,” he continues in his praise for Omotola Jalade Ekeinde.

Also, while she is the main character, others also step up to the game. Writing about Wale Ojo as Timothy, Izuzu also explains; “He is comfortable as his character and brings an on-screen charisma befitting of a billionaire philanthropist.”
In conclusion, the Pulse review leaves a clear verdict; “Alter Ego” is distinct. It starts a conversation at the reality of sexual abuse and the trauma that follows gut-wrenching experiences like sexual abuse.
FriedPlantains “Alter Ego” movie review
Writing about the “Alter Ego” movie script by Jude Martins, FriedPlantains, a “playground for movie lovers” had this to say;
“However, the sophistication associated with dialogues of a legal storyline was missing throughout the court scenes […] the writer/director did emphasize several key points in quiet, simpler ways depicting the emotional switches perfectly.”

FriedPlantains also described the movie as a “once in a blue moon” diversion from the typical comedy, drama or living happily ever after type of story.
