The teaser for new movie Funke is out and the theme of ‘gender roles’ is as striking as ever.
Set in 1996, the Yemi Morafa film centers on a young girl’s ultimate dream to become a footballer. Her struggle to surmount gender roles inherent in her community and family makes for the major conflict.
The movie stars Jide Kosoko, Segun Arinze, Eniola Badmus, Okey Uzoeshi, Tomike Alayande, Frank Donga, Ini-Dima Okojie, Efa Iwara.

Funke will air in cinemas nationwide from September 7th.
