Ava DuVernay has a new Netflix show titled When They See Us, and the teaser has been released.

The show is based on the true life story of five teenagers of colour labelled the Central Park Five who were convicted of rape they did not commit. According to Just Jared, the four-part limited series will focus on the five teenagers from Harlem, New York.

The names of the teenagers are: Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Korey Wise, Antron McCray and Raymond Santana.

When They See Us begins in the spring of 1989, when the teenagers were first queried about the incident.

The series will span 25 years, highlighting their exoneration in 2002 and the settlement reached with the city of New York in 2014.

Cast members include Felicity Huffman, Blair Underwood, Vera Farmiga, Michael K. Williams, Joshua Jackson, Niecy Nash, Jharrel Jerome, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, Freddy Miyares, and Justin Cunningham.

When They See Us will be released on Netflix on 31 May.
