The long-awaited film, titled ‘Respect’ stars Jennifer Hudson as Aretha Franklin, Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Audra McDonald, Marc Maron, Tituss Burgess, Saycon Sengbloh, Hailey Kilgore, Skye Dakota Turner, Tate Donovan, and Mary J. Blige.
In the trailer for the film, Jennifer Hudson is singing Aretha’s iconic song, ‘Respect’, while the word can be seen in flashing neon signs behind her.
As Hudson sings, clips of Aretha’s life flash on the screen as moments from her rise to fame play out on the screen.

The biopic follows the rise of Aretha Franklin’s career from a child singing in her father’s church’s choir to her international superstardom, ‘Respect’ is the remarkable true story of the music icon’s journey to find her voice.
