Ahead of that, the Late Late Show’s James Corden host spent three months preparing a prank with his colleagues, which they pulled off with absolute perfection.
In the clip, Corden shows his prop team creating the statue and then bringing it to the LA Galaxy stadium to show Beckham. The former soccer star is clearly appalled by the creation and gets pissed off in the process.
The prank comes to its conclusion when the statue is accidentally destroyed, prompting Beckham to say to the forklift driver, “you’ve probably done me a favour there” – and Corden makes his appearance.
