After getting an apology from rapper Meek Mill, Vanessa Bryant has turned her sights on actress Evan Rachel Wood who called Kobe a rapist a year ago.
On 26 January 2020, shortly after Kobe Bryant died in the helicopter crash, Wood went on Twitter to write; “What has happened is tragic. I am heartbroken for Kobe’s family. He was a sports hero. He was also a rapist. And all of these truths can exist simultaneously.”
However, Vanessa Bryant says she is just learning of the offending tweet. In an Instagram Story post, she called out the actress over her statement. Bryant wrote:
“Your false, insensitive, defamatory and slanderous tweet on 1/26/20 is vile and disturbing, to say the least. [Behaviour] like this is part of the reason why innocent black men go to jail for crimes they didn’t commit. An accusation doesn’t make someone guilty. YOU DON’T KNOW THE FACTS OF THE CASE.”
Evan Rachel Wood had since deactivated her Twitter account in May 2020 but Vanessa is not letting the matter slide. The ‘case’ that the late Basketball legend’s wife is referring to happened back in July 2003.
