On Wednesday, UNDP names Yemi Alade,  a Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter, their Goodwill Ambassador

UNDP is an acronym for The United Nations Development Programme.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread across the nations, the international superstar will help in bringing attention to health impact imbalance and the social and economic issues surrounding the most vulnerable in developing parts of the world.

She says: “Covid-19  has widened the gap between the rich and the poor and I look forward to lending my voice to those who are suffering the most from the socioeconomic impact of Covid-19… I am super, super ready to give my all, my voice to the cause and mission of the United Nations.

Alade joins a list of UNDP Goodwill Ambassadors, of whom are well known as celebrated sportsmen and women, musicians, entertainers and influencers.
