The Starz series Power has shut down production after an on-set accident led to the death of a production assistant early Monday morning.

At about 4.20am on December 11 2018, a production assistant, Pedro Jimenez was killed by a 2006 Ford Explorer. Jimenez was a production assistant for the hit show. He was setting up traffic cones to set up a parking lane for production vehicles when he was hit.

The sixth season of Power has been temporarily shut down to mourn Jimenez who had been working on the show since its first season in 2014.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of the members of our Power family,” Starz spokesperson said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with Mr Jimenez’s family as we work to fully understand what has happened.”
