Several news outlets have confirmed that Witsel is back in Europe from China via a Borrusia Dortmund deal.

He joins from Tianjin Quanjian for a fee that is reported to be around €20 million.

The 29-year-old sounds pleased about this transfer as he told reporters:

“After the World Cup, my goal was to move from China back to Europe. I’m totally happy and proud to play for BVB soon,” said Witsel.

“After our first conversation, I did not have to think twice, because for me Borussia Dortmund is one of the best clubs on the continent. Honestly, I can not wait to run aground in front of 81,000 people.”
