Trailer Thursday: AY and the gang return in Merry Men 2

Merry Men 2 is the sequel to the much-loved Merry men: The real Yoruba demons which was released in 2018 and starred AY, Jim Iyke, Ramsey Nouah and Falz.

In the first instalment of the film, Four rich men (the Merry Men) seduce powerful women, get contracts from the political elite, steal from the rich, give to the poor and have sex with the hottest women in town.

They face their biggest challenge yet when they antagonize a notorious and corrupt politician who plans on demolishing a village to build a shopping mall. The four men scheme to save the poor people of the village.

With a mix of love, family and friendships, the Merry Men struggle to keep it all together through this epic movie.

AY definitely knows his market. The comedian is known for his bright and funny movies, something it appears people love as audience flock to the theatres with each theatrical release to watch.

In Merry men 2, the women are in charge. Nancy Isime, Linda Osifo, Damilola Adegbite, Regina Daniels, Ufoma McDermott and ace actress Iretiola Doyle take the lead in this instalment.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Alex Asogwa makes her Nollywood debut in Merry Men 2.

AY, Ramsey Nouah, Falz, and Jim Iyke return as the Merry Men, with Williams Uchemba joining as the fifth.

As part of the promotion for the film, several celebrities were recruited to feature in promotional videos for the film. Such people include the cast of the film, alongside others such as BBNaija stars Diane Russet, Elozonam, and Seyi Awolowo.

A number of mouth-watering teasers were also released, and when it came time for the movie premiere, the attendees did justice to the ‘suit up’ theme that we think is quite fitting for the film.

A final trailer was released a few weeks ago, and we have to admit, it is as mouth-watering as the first instalment of the film, with the right dose of action, comedy, and girl power that proves that AY really is a master at this business.

Merry Men 2 was directed by Moses Inwang, with Darlington Abuda and Ayo Makun as producers.

Merry Men 2 is set for release on 20 December 2019.
