When the pandemic first broke out, efforts were made to quickly contain it and prevent it from going out of bounds. But as its reach continued to spread and the pandemic continued to spread, tighter restrictions were enforced.
Movie theatres had to shut down in response to the pandemic. China closed down all movie theatres and theme parks as early as January. Also, production theatres shut down temporarily in order to control the spread of the virus.
Because of the fact that movie theatres, a number of blockbuster movies had to be postponed from the year 2020 to the year 2021 so that they could debut in the theatre.
1. Black Widow
‘Black Widow’ is a standalone movie that tells the story of Natasha Romanov’s life.
At birth, the Black Widow whose real name is Natasha Romanova is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative.
When the U.S.S.R. breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action moves to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative.

2. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
The film is a sequel to Doctor Strange and Avengers: Endgame, and a crossover/sequel to WandaVision and Loki.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is an upcoming superhero film, based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name.
This movie was moved from May 7, 2021, to March 25, 2022. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness does not have a trailer yet.
3. The Eternals
The Eternals is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics race of the same name.
It is produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is intended to be the 25th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It stars Kit Harrington, Kumail Nanjiani, Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden and a host of other actors.
The Eternals was moved from November 6, 2020, to February 12, 2021. This movie does not have a trailer yet.
4. Fast and Furious 9
In the latest Fast and Furious movie, Dominic Toretto and his crew join forces to battle the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered – his forsaken brother.
This movie stars Vin Diesel, John Cena, Charlize Theron, Cardi B and a host of other actors. Fast and Furious 9 was moved from May 22, 2020, to April 2, 2021. Watch the trailer below:
5. The Matrix 4
The Matrix 4 is an upcoming American science fiction action film and the fourth instalment in The Matrix franchise.
The film is co-written and directed by Lana Wachowski, the elder of the sisters who directed the previous three films. This film stars Keanu Reeves, Priyanka Chopra, Jada Pinkett-Smith and others.
