Many people (including non-subscribers) were alarmed when they received an empty test email from HBO Max, the company apologised and blamed the error on an intern. Apparently, the intern had mistakenly sent the mail to the streaming company’s mailing list.
It has been a funny matter since HBO Max confirmed that the intern did not lose their job. Instead, the company said: “… we’re helping them through it.” Tweeps have also come out to share their worst experiences while working as interns and here are the 10 most hilarious ones.
1. “Sharing is caring …”
To ensure that colleagues are attuned to their bodily clockwork, Caissie did this:

2. When next Spotify is down, you know who is behind it
So, it happened that the global Spotify downtime that happened some years ago was caused by an intern. Here is what he said:

3. Even senior engineers are not exempted
This person dropped an entire prod database as a senior engineer. You don’t believe it? See their tweet yourself.
Dear intern,
It’s ok. I dropped a prod database when I was a senior engineer. These things happen more often than you might think. Building good systems is about having resilience against human mistakes. Because we, humans, always make mistakes.

5. “You get a Holland, you get a Holland, everyone gets a Holland”
This employee once turned the company into a family business by changing everyone’s last name.
As an actual hired employee I changed the last name of everyone at the company in the HR system to “Holland”. A change which required them to restore the database from a backup.
This was during my first week.
