Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has taken to one of her episodes of Grub & Rub with King Tonto to reveal that she was a rape victim.
Conversations about rape are far from over as victims of rape keep coming out daily to tell their stories.
In the latest episode of Grub & Rub with King Tonto shared on YouTube on Thursday, the Nollywood actress and philanthropist got quite emotional as she discussed rape with her guest, Haye Okoh, who is the first lady of Nigeria Aisha Buhari’s personal photographer.
During the episode, Tonto asked her guest a few questions about rape and went on to state that she had never shared her story because she hadn’t absorbed it.
“I am a rape victim but I didn’t let it define me, ” she says in the video.
Captioning the Youtube video, the mum of one writes: “Rape culture has suddenly taken a turn for the worst in recent times, but many with voices and commendable actions are stepping up to protect others and give them a voice.
