Today in history: O.J. Simpson was charged with 7 felonies

On September 18, 2007, Former American footballer, broadcaster, and actor, O.J. Simpson, was charged with seven felonies.
The felonies included kidnapping and the alleged armed robbery of sports memorabilia collectors in a Las Vegas casino-hotel room.
In 2008, he was convicted and sentenced to 33 years imprisonment, with a minimum of 9 years without parole. He served his sentence at the Lovelock Correctional Center near Nevada.

On 20 July 2017, Simpson was granted parole. He was eligible for release from prison on 1 October 2017 and was released shortly after midnight on that date.
