We know that the singer/songwriter turned media personality Charly Boy (born Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa) has a love affair with pen and paper, and many times have delighted the nation with beautiful insights on his take on our national proceeding. This time, however, the self-declared ‘Area Fada‘ has directed his literary prowess to the love of his life, his wife Diane Oputa.

In an Instagram post titled “My Wife”, the Nigerian Idol judge wrote

“I trust that our togetherness over the years has taught some people about perseverance, tolerance, discipline and friendship.

If no be YOU, Na who.
Your Loyal Mugu”

It’s quite lovely to have couples express their love for each and also to recognise that relationships need work from both. And as Charly Boy pointed out, it is not just about the things that a couple have in common, but also about understanding their differences and working to resolve those. Active listening, communication, empathy, and wanting so much to be together are some of the factors that can lead to an enduring and happy relationship.
