The Obituary Of Tunde Johnson won the first million-dollar screenplay competition through The Launch, a fellowship co-created by Jason Shuman and Zachary Green to find the next generation of great screenwriters from around the world. Stanley Kalu also won a $50,000 education grant.
LeRoi is an Emmy winner who also wrote and directed episodes for the Starz series Survivor’s Remorse. Production of the film will begin later this month but a cast is yet to be announced.
