'The Lion King' sequel in the works with director, Barry Jenkins

Fans of ‘The Lion King‘ will be absolutely ecstatic to learn that a new sequel is in the works at Disney with a new director.
The sequel to 2019’s live-action movie which featured Beyonce will reportedly include Mufasa’s origin story.
Deadline is reporting that the film will also continue with the photorealistic technology that director, Jon Favreau used for ‘The Jungle Book’ and ‘Lion King’.
Fan still have a long way to wait for the movie to be released as Disney has now announced a release date or even shared a schedule for the production of the film.

Speaking about ‘The ion King’, Barry Jenkins said:
“Helping my sister raise two young boys during the ’90s, I grew up with these characters. Having the opportunity to work with Disney on expanding this magnificent tale of friendship, love and legacy while furthering my work chronicling the lives and souls of folk within the African diaspora is a dream come true.”
