Taylor Swift is the highest paid celebrity in 2019 - Forbes

Taylor Swift tops Forbes’ Celebrity 100, the magazine’s annual list of top-paid entertainers, with estimated 2019 earnings of $185 million.

Forbes compiled its 2019 list by estimating pre-tax earnings from June 2018-June 2019, before deducting fees for managers, based on data from Nielsen, touring trade publication Pollstar, movie database IMDB and interviews with industry experts and many of the celebrities themselves.

It’s the second time Taylor Swift has come in at number one — after she previously led the pack for 2016 — making Swift the first music artist to take the Forbeslead twice.

Forbes noted that Swift’s 2018 Reputation stadium trek was the highest-grossing tour in U.S. history at $266.1 million, and also that the artist benefitted from a new deal with Universal’s Republic label and the sharing of proceeds from Universal’s sale of its Spotify stake.

At number two on the list is makeup mogul and star of Keeping Up With The Kardashians reality tv show, Kylie Jenner who earned $170 for the period under review. Jenner topped the list last year and earlier this year, Forbes declared Jenner to be the world’s youngest billionaire.

Kanye West lands the number three position with $150 million.

Messi is the first celebrity from the sports world with an estimated earning of $127 m, which keeps him on the number four position. His alleged nemesis Cristino Ronald earned $109 m to land the 6th position, the fifth position went to British sensation, Ed Sheeran who earned an estimated $100 m during the period.

No film personalities made the top 10. Dwayne Johnson is the first actor to come up on the list, at number 15. Dr. Phil McGraw was the sole TV star in the top 10, in at number 9 with $95 million.

Others making the top 20 included Roger Federer, Howard Stern (number 12, with $93 million), J.K. Rowling (number 13, with $92 million), Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, LeBron James, Rush Limbaugh, Elton John (number 19, with $84 million), and Jay-Z and Beyonce (tied at number 20 through marriage and business alliances, with an estimated revenue of $81 million each).

The magazine said the world’s 100 highest-paid celebrities pulled in $6.3 billion pretax over the past 12 months.
