Carl Ikeme might have retired from football, but his time in football isn’t over yet.
The retired goalkeeper was contracted by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr to hire new goalkeepers for the national team.
According to Rohr in an interview with SportingLife, he said: “The NFF has also graciously accepted my proposal to give opportunity to Carl (Ikeme) to help us find other good goalkeepers of Nigerian descent. So we are still searching for good players in all positions in the team.”
Rohr was recently criticized by Peter Rufai for handing the goalkeeping duties to the inexperienced teenager Uzoho.

“Yes some former players who have shone with the national team before have freedom and liberty to help the team if there are problems.
“Peter (Rufai) can call me at any time to give me useful advice because I know him very well and he knows me too. We can speak about it if he has a better candidate.”
Uzoho has started all the eleven matches played by the Super Eagles in 2018, conceding 12 goals and keeping 4 clean sheets.
