Sridevi Kapoor: Postmortem reveals Bollywood actress 'accidentally drowned in hotel bath'

Bollywood superstar Sridevi Kapoor died of accidental drowning in her hotel bathtub in Dubai on Saturday, her postmortem report said on Monday.
Earlier reports had stated the actress died from a cardiac arrest. However, a postmortem shows that the 54-year-old actress died due to “drowning in her hotel apartment’s bathtub following a loss of consciousness,” according to a tweet by the Dubai government’s media office.

Meanwhile, the Dubai Public Prosecutor are in charge of the case and will try to determine the exact circumstances leading to the actress’ death.
Kapoor who was in Dubai to attend a nephew’s wedding was found unconscious in her suite at Dubai’s Emirates Towers hotel. She rushed to a hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.
The actress had appeared in over 300 films in five different Indian languages during a career that spanned five decades after she appeared in her first movie at age four. Her last and 300th movie, Mom, was released in 2017. She married Bollywood film producer Boney Kapoor in 1996 and they had two daughters.
