The 22-year-old who is reported to be actively trying to leave the club was criticised by Mourinho for not immediately returning to join the squad for their preseason fixtures after the birth of his second child.
“Anthony Martial has the baby and after the baby is born – beautiful baby, full of health, thank God – he should be here and he is not here.” The Portuguese coach said.
Martial has now replied that comment, albeit indirectly:
“Thank you all for your messages. My little Swan is fine. For the mother, it was more difficult but thank god she is better now,”
