Nigerian Singer, Simi, who was first known for her lively gospel songs shares her reason for dumping gospel music.
Simi who was a guest panelist at this year’s Nigerian Entertainment Conference noted that she wanted to do arts for art’s sake and didn’t want to be restricted.
The singer said: ”I started out as a gospel artiste, as a matter of fact, I had a gospel album in 2008. I wanted to write love songs, I just wanted to do arts for art’s sake.

“I wanted to sing about what I was feeling so that was how I transitioned into secular music.”
The sensational vocalist also thrilled guests to a short performance of her song Joromi.
