Show us same love on the main stage, Wizkid tells award show organisers

International award-winning artist, Wizkid has called on show organisers to treat African artists more fairly

 

The star made the call fresh off his unexpected but deserved win at the 2017 edition of the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) awards last weekend, beating the likes of Jay-Z, Cardi B to clinch the title of Best International Act.

 

 

Speaking during a live interview recently, Wizkid called for equal treatment for African artists. He said international show organisers should either show the same level of respect accorded foreign counterparts or none at all.

He says: “If you are not going to show us the same love you show your international artists on the main stage, don’t show us love at all. We have our own people.”
