Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has a clear preference for rings over medals. And that’s because according to the Veteran defender, they give more value to awards.

His preference was revealed in Real Madrid Television’s En el Corazon de la Decimotercera documentary which offers unseen footage from Los Blancos’ latest Champions League success.

The documentary suggests that Ramos asked FIFA president Gianni Infantino to propose that UEFA replace Champions League medals with rings in the style of the NBA.

Ramos got himself a ring to commemorate the Decimotercera  (thirteenth Champions League title).

While Ramos may prefer rings, there are a lot of footballers who would like to have a say if such a decision is to be taken.

It is therefore unlikely that we see any such changes soon.
