The singer has a freshly made album that he reclaimed the rights as part of his agreement with Sony Records upon his exit.
Kelly, who is seeking to release the album, is on the hunt for a new distributor. The split came two weeks after the documentary, Surviving R Kelly, aired. The documentary alleged a series of sexual and physical abuse and sex cult claims against the singer. He has denied all accusations.
It is not clear how he will release the album but he has many options: from going through an indie distributor or signing with another record label. He can also upload the album directly to Spotify although a rep for the streaming site has said the direct upload feature is still in its beta stage and only open to a few number of artists that does not include R Kelly.
