On Sunday night, EbonyLife TV, Africa’s first Global Black Entertainment & Lifestyle network, hosted a private dinner party for John Boyega anchored by the media mogul and talk show hostess, Mo Abudu.Mo Abudu, CEO of Ebony life TV and John Boyega, English actor of Nigerian origin
I don’t know if you’re thinking what I am thinking; should we be expecting some sort of business partnership announcement soon?
Background: Boyega has said he is considering investing $20m-$25m into the Nollywood industry.
So? Recall that Mo is an established tv personality who has spread her tentacles to the film industry and was involved in successful projects including the Wedding Party and Wedding Party 2. Her last movie project, The Royal Hibiscus Hotel, was screened at last year’s Toronto Film Festival. Moreover, as part of the ELFIKE Collective that includes FilmOne and Koga Studio, she can lay claim to having a solid platform.
So I think the tv mogul might likely be positioning her brand to take advantage of a likely partnership with Boyega. I can’t claim to be privy to Mo having hosted a private dinner party for any actor in the past. She may well be playing hospitality and that’s commendable but I have doubts if that’s her only motive; call me a cynic if you like but that’s my opinion.

Anyway, the media entrepreneur posted about the dinner on her Instagram page on Monday, writing:
“EbonyLife hosted a private dinner party for John Boyega and we made sure the millennials were all there to meet with him.”
From the pictures, e could identify some Nollywood actors as well as TV presenters including Inidima Okojie, Mimi Onalaja, Eku Edewor, Deyemi Okanlawon, Tosin Odunla and Denola Grey.
