Bolaji Kekere-Ekun’s Nollywood short film titled, Call Me by My Name, is a psychological thriller that delves into the world of traditional worship and men presented in a modern setting.
While interrogating the wife of a man who has disappeared, a troubled detective physically and sexually assaults her. Unbeknownst to him, she possesses supernatural powers, which she uses to rehash the childhood trauma he faced after his mother abandoned him. The short film is as scary as it is nuanced, breaking down toxic masculinity and punishing each man for their wrongdoings.
Call Me by My Name stars Nengi Adoki, Demi Banwo and Segilola Ogidan
