Many Nigerians hoped that African Giant, Burna Boy, will bag the Grammys last night, but their hopes were dashed as Angelique Kidjo beat him to the award.

The Beninese music great won the Grammy Award for the category Best World Music Album, for her album, Celia.

The fans of the self-proclaimed African Giant have reacted in various ways to the loss of their giant as many of them had hoped he will win. They have taken to the Twitter community to air their disappointment.

A fan tweeted: “Burna is no doubt an African Giant, not easy to win when nominated alongside your mentor and a legend of Africa. Burna keep the flag flying, we coming back to win the Grammys. Anticipate the Coming of the African Giant. Long live the Giant of Africa

Another tweeted: “Look at who Burna boy was up against… she dedicated her award to him. That’s still a win for the African Giant. She’s 31 years older than him… The sky is still the starting point. His Role model
