An unconfirmed story has it that a Nigerian student in the UK attempted suicide over non-payment of stipends by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)

The story was initially broken on Twitter by a user going by the handle @ensydave who had since deleted the tweet. The student allegedly studies in Birmingham and has not received their supposed allowance from NDDC for almost a year. The user also called on Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District to raise the issue of non-payment of allowance in the National Assembly.
