The Nigerian Bobsled team otherwise known as ‘The Ice Blazers’ who just shocked the world to qualify for the winter Olympics caught the attention of one of America’s most popular TV shows, Ellen.

The team were guests on the show which aired Monday, December 4. They shared their inspiring story as the first African team to compete for Bobsled medals at the Winter Olympics. It began like a pipe dream for Nigerian Olympian and team pilot, Seun Adigun and her brakemen, Ngozi Onwumere and Akuoma Omeoga when they set out to achieve what no other African country has ever attempted before.
In Calgary on Wednesday, November 15, the ladies made international headlines when they completed their fifth required race on the windy ice racks to book a place at the forthcoming 2018 Winter Olympics taking place from February 9 to 25, 2018 in Pyeongchang County, South Korea.
Their victory has been the subject of media buzz widely-reported in global media platforms such as Time, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, Vogue, Buzzfeed, Al Jazeera, CNN and BBC. The Nigerian girls have attracted sponsorship support from global brands Visa, Toyota, Under Armour, Lazer, Belton AG and Kwese TV.
