New music video: Beyonce's visuals for Spirit is oh, so vibrant, you gotta watch it on Sidomex

The official video for Beyonce’s new song, Spirit, is out. And it’s a homage to Africa.

The video dropped last night during a special appearance interview of the singer and some members of the cast and director of the The Lion King remake on ABC News primetime special called The Lion King: Can You Feel the Love Tonight With Robin Roberts.

As we expected, the video for the single is interspersed with a healthy amount of scenes from the The Lion King movie. But that’s not all! It also has looks. Oh, so many looks! Red strappy looks, mountainous look, desert look, brooks ad streams look, blue wrap looks, patterned African jumpsuit looks, large pink and purple dresses look and even Blue Ivy made a special appearance.

“The soundtrack is a love letter to Africa, and I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa and not just, you know, use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it,” Beyoncé explains in the interview. “I wanted it to be authentic to what is beautiful about the music in Africa.

“A lot of the drums, the chants — all of these incredible new sounds mixed with some of the producers from America, we’ve kind of created our own genre. And I feel like the soundtrack, it becomes visual in your mind,” she continues. “It’s a soundscape, it’s more than just the music because each song tells the story of the film.”

The music video was shot at Havasu Falls, a waterfall located in Havasu Creek in the Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA.
