New Music Friday: Brand new albums from Doja Cat, Logic, Justine Skye and KiDi

In this week’s edition of New Music Friday, we examine the latest albums released by Doja Cat, Logic, Justine Skye, and KiDi, as well as other top new singles that dropped.

Doja Cat has had an amazing ride all year long, and the anticipation for her third studio album “Planet Her” finally ends as the project dropped on 25 June 2021.

“Planet Her” is a 14 track album featuring top stars such as The Weeknd, SZA, Ariana Grande, Young Thug, and more.

Doja hopes to take you on a journey to her own world with the album, and she launches it with the video to “You Right” featuring The Weeknd.

Doja Cat also scored another win with “Kiss Me More” featuring SZA as the song hits No. 1 on Rhythmic Airplay, earning SZA her first No. 1 song on the Billboard Rhythmic Airplay chart.

“Kiss Me More” featuring SZA is Doja’s third song to lead the Rhythmic Airplay chart, following “Say So,” which dominated for three weeks in 2020, and “Best Friend” featuring Saweetie that hit the No. Spot and reigned for a week in April.

Logic “YS Collection Vol. 1” album drops

Logic re-emerges from early retirement and is back in the loop with a brand new compilation album titled “YS Collection Vol. 1”, released on 25 June.

Just like the name of the project suggests, it’s a compilation of his older material that he has finally managed to clear. But he also added one new, unreleased song at the end.

“YS Collection Vol. 1” consists of songs from across Logic’s Young Sinatra series: Young Sinatra (2011), Young Sinatra ‘Undeniable (2012)’, Young Sinatra ‘Welcome To Forever (2013)’, and the studio album YSIV (2018).

Justine Skye – “Space and Time”

Justine Skye has officially dropped her latest album “Space and Time” along with the official album documentary.

“Space and Time” features efforts from Nigeria’s Afrorave star Rema as well as Justin Timberlake among others.

The 12-track project, produced by Timbaland, arrived in the early hours of Friday 25 June.

Skye said, “My story and my sound finally unite,” during her album press release.

KiDi drops sophomore album – Golden Boy

Lynx Entertainment act, KiDi, finally drops his highly anticipated sophomore project “The Golden Boy” on 25 June.

The project is a 14-track long body of work featuring fellow countryman Kwame Eugene, as well as Patoranking and Joey B from Nigeria.
