Three Nigerian players – Wilfred Ndidi, Odion Ighalo and Victor Osimhen made it to the shortlist of football players for the prestigious awards.
The three Nigerian players who play football abroad in Leicester City, Shanghai Greenland Shenhua and Lille clubs were shortlisted alongside Liverpool heavyweight, Mohammed Salah, Kalidou Koulibaly, Nicolas Pepe, Naby Keita, and 23 others.
It is worth mentioning that Salah won the coveted award last year.
