Former CNN interviewer and talk show host Larry King is in the hospital due to an illness related to COVID-19.

According to a source close to the family, Larry King has spent close to a week in the hospital as he battled COVID-19. The 87-year-old TV celebrity has been battling health conditions which raise concern over his coronavirus infection.

CNN reports that Larry King has Type 2 diabetes and has suffered several heart attacks. He also endured a quintuple bypass surgery back in 1987.

King himself had revealed that he had lung cancer back in 2017 and underwent surgery to treat it. More recently, he had another medical procedure in 2019 to treat angina.

It was due to the several health issues that led him to start the Larry King Cardiac Foundation. This is a non-profit organisation that assists patients that do not have health insurance to get medical help.

In 2019, Larry King had lost two children; 65-year-old Andy King to a heart attack and 52-year-old Chaia King to lung cancer.
