Given the inability of the petroleum ministry and the NNPC to supply adequate petrol to Nigerians during this festive season, we guess anyone would be happy to receive such practical gift at this time.
So, Senator Dino Melaye is very much visible these days. We’ve seen him flexing at Notting Hill carnival, then he released that short video clip berating those asking for people’s sources of wealth to be probed. Because in the senator’s opinion, we didn’t ask for their source of poverty be probed when they were poor. Then, there was that fantasy football in honour of his 50th birthday and to raise money for charity. Lest we forge, the award for the best senator from Kogi State since 1999, which he recently bagged.
So, is Senator DinoMelaye steadily transforming into the people’s senator or are these buzz of activities a deflection of the heavy political cloud hanging over the senator? His constituency it is reported has instituted the process to recall him but that’s a matter for another time.
Anyway, the Senator in keeping with his recent public persona just shared this picture of a gift wrapped 25litre plastic can, which he says was “25 litres of petrol: best Christmas gift,” and as an Oliver Twist adds, “more please“.
Lucky Senator, if every Nigeria can get one just like that, we’re sure we’ll have a more lively Christmas celebration.
