Ants can be found near sweet things or food generally, they leave a chemical pheromone trail wherever they travel. If you kill them, other ants will simply follow the trail and show up at the same places. For this reason, you have to eliminate the entire colony.

Since ants are attracted to sugar this solution attracts them and the baking soda kills them because it reacts with the acid in their digestive system and they explode. Place the sugar and baking soda mixture in strategic locations and wait for the baking soda to do its thing.
