KCee reiterates his ambition to run in the Anambra gubernatorial election

Rewind to August 3! That was when  Nigerian pop singer Kingsley Okonkwo , popularly known as Kcee released posters that showed his intention to contest the Anambra governorship election holding in November. Following an outpouring of support from fans on social media, the singer has maintained, during a chat with HIP TV, that the decision to join in the gubernatorial election was not a joke.

“My campaign manager said I should not speak much about it and that’s what I’m going to stand on. I’m going to be making an official statement about it but trust me it’s not a joke.

“I think the youth has to speak up and that’s what I’m saying right now.

KCce’s announcement follows on the heel of a similar one by actor, Yul Edochie, who has similarly expressed interest in running for Anambra State governorship position. Only time will tell if a new wave of youthful is sweeping along the Nigerian political landscape or whether it’s just celebrity seeking publicity.
