New York rapper Juelz Santana has been sentenced to 27 months in prison after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm.
The rapper whose real name is LaRon Louis James was arrested in March after security staff at New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport found a loaded 38-calibre handgun and non-prescription Oxycodone pills in a carry-on bag containing his identification.
At first, the rapper abandoned his luggage and left the area, but later turned himself in 3 days later.

TMZ reports that Santana – a convicted felon – pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Recall that in 2011 he was also arrested after police found two loaded handguns, 17 bags of marijuana and drug paraphernalia while raiding his New Jersey studio, and he pleaded guilty to fourth-degree marijuana distribution.
