The WBO fighter from New Zealand, Joseph Parker, had last week opened up through his promoter David Higgins that a fight was in the talks to unify the IBF and WBA titles and the WBO title in a fight with British-Nigeria’s Anthony Joshua.
Higgins revealed that the deal he wanted was 40 percent of the income and the remaining going to AJ, but the promoter has announced that he is ready to abandon the fight after he received an email that was (he hoped wasn’t) from Eddie Hearn that offered a price that was inconsiderably low, he labeled the deal that was stated in the email as insulting to Parker.
Although there are also on going talks with Deontay Wilder who holds the WBC title regarding a unification of AJ’s title, Higgins has said that he would not accept a deal offering less than 40%.
