Instagram Users are being logged out of their accounts by unknown hackers according to Mashable.

ZDNet reports that hundreds of users are unable to log in to their Instagram accounts and when password reset and recovery emails are requested, “the email addresses linked to their accounts have been changed to .ru domains”.

The hacker(s) then use Disney or Pixar images as profile pictures for the compromised accounts.

News outlets propose that the use of the .ru domain could mean that the hack is from Russia or the hacker is pretending to be from the country.

Many desperate users are now tweeting directly at Instagram to fix the problem.
