Some of your favourite celebrities are expecting babies, and the Big Brother Nigeria reality TV stars are definitely going by their announcements this week.

Big Brother Nigeria’s Gedoni Ekpata started last week by sharing the best news about his career. It’s said that he who has got a wife has got a good thing, and since Gedoni has an almost wife (Khafi), good things are following him about.

He was recently appointed at the very first special assistant to the Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade, on garment factory and branding.

The news was first shared by Cross-River-based radio station, Hit FM, Calabar, and Gedoni reacted to the news by writing, “Mine is a simple case of God’s Grace.”

To quote his fiancee, Khafi, “All we do is win!”

In the same vein, Big Brother’s Mike Edwards, who was the first runner up at the latest edition of the show has bagged his first ambassadorship role and he caught a big fish indeed.

The olympian has been appointed, alongside singer, Mayorkun, as a brand ambassador for Budweiser NG. He has now joined other housemates Sir Dee, Diane, Tacha, and Mercy, among others who have signed similar deals.

Budweiser NG shared the news on their social media page with a caption and a super sleek video. The caption read: “A King is Born. Welcome, @aireyys #AKingIsBorn #BeAKing“

Not two BBNaija stars announced big news this week, but three. The winner of the show herself, Mercy Eke, shared a super fun video of herself, Toyin Abraham, and Instagram comedian, Broda Shaggi.

She accompanied it with a caption revealing that she would be in the upcoming movie, Fate of Alakada. Yes, she’s going to be a movie star, y’all!

American TV host, Wendy Williams is moving forward on her own after finalizing her divorce to her husband, Kevin Hunter. Wendy filed for divorce in April 2019 after Hunter’s mistress gave birth.

After their son heard the news, he punched his father and was subsequently arrested.

Kevin Hunter Jr. isn’t the only one going around beating people up. Singer, Vic O accused Zlatan Ibile of giving people the go-ahead to beat him up. 

He shared a lot of information about his alleged beating and got no reply from Zlatan.

Meanwhile, the Oxford dictionary has added a whopping 29 Nigerian words to the dictionary. They are described as Nigerian English and some of the words include Buka, Tokunbo, Agric, among others. Find out about the rest here.

Shocking things happened in the world of Tennis last week, seriously.

First, Serena Williams was knocked out in the third round of the Australian by China’s Wang Qiang. What made her defeat all the more shocking was the fact that she’s beat Qiang 6-0 6-1 at last year’s US Open.

After the match, Williams said: “I can’t play like that. I literally can’t do that again, that’s unprofessional and it’s not cool.”

In a similar vein, Naomi Osaka was ousted by 15-year-old tennis prodigy, Coco Gauff. Gauff beat Osaka 6-3 6-4.

Gauff said after the match: “Two years ago I lost first round in juniors, and now I’m here. This is crazy. I was just telling myself one point at a time and keep fighting because you never know what happens on this court. I’m on Rod Laver Arena, I can’t believe this.”

Sadly, the traditional medicine expert, Alhaji Fatai Yusuf, who was popularly known as Oko Oloyun has died.

He was fatally shot while travelling from Oyo state to Lagos state. The police said:

“Gunmen attacked his vehicle on the Eruwa-Igboora Road in Ibarapa Central; they shot at his vehicle and he was hit by a bullet. The man’s corpse has been deposited in the Igbo-Ora General Hospital.”
