Nigeria’s Oluwatobiloba Amusan has won the gold for the 100m hurdles race at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Australia.
The athlete achieved the feat on Friday at the Carrara stadium in Gold Coast, Australia, making history along the way, as she becomes the first Nigerian to win gold at the Commonwealth Games 100m hurdles
The 20-year-old put up an impressive run to come out tops with 12.68 seconds at the race. Amusa is the reigning American Collegiate 100m hurdles champion, according to the Cable.
Danielle Williams of Jamaica came second to claim the silver medal in 12.78 seconds.Yanique Thompson, another Jamaican, won the bronze medal in 12.97 seconds.

Amusan’s triumph is Nigeria’s eighth gold medal of the Commonwealth Games.
The 20-year-old is also the third Nigerian woman to make it to the podium after Modupe Oshikoya’s (bronze) in 1974 and Angela Atiede (bronze) in 2002.
