Gifty Powers (again) weighs in on Regina Daniels' marriage to Ned Nwoko

Former BBN housemate Gifty Powers still stands by her call for Nigerians to let teen actress Regina Daniels alone to enjoy her marriage.

Regina Daniel got married to 59-year-old billionaire senator, Ned Nwoko and subsequently began flaunting a luxurious lifestyle on social media. A lifestyle for which she has been receiving flacks by many social media users who accused her of marrying the senator for his money.  Unsurprisingly, some celebrities had weighed in to chirp in their two pence. Gifty Power was one such celebrity and also one of those that voiced support for the teen wife. In an earlier Instagram statement, Gifty had described age as a number, maintaining it’s better for a woman to get hooked to someone who is capable of meeting her financial needs.

What’s new?

Gifty has now thrown more light on what she meant, telling Punch’s Saturday Beats that Regina is an adult who is old enough to make her own decision.

“Regina is not 12 years old neither is she 15 years old, she is in her 20s (Sic) which makes it legal to make her own decision. The last time I checked, it was a free world and I’m no superior in holding anyone from having their thoughts whether insane or sane,” Gifty tells Saturday Beats.

Pause. But didn’t Regina say the same thing?

Gotcha. She did.

In her first public discussion of her marriage, Regina said she’s definitely an adult and has been so even as a child. She also stated she means out on a lot of kids stuff growing up.

So it looks like Gifty is parroting Regina?

Well, we can say that exactly as we don’t know if Gifty saw that discussion clip but it sure sounds familiar. But she sure made some good points too like how she’s a wife and not a sugar baby like “those girls that have hundreds of older men’s phone contacts on their phone as sugar daddies; other men that they share pleasure with and receive cash in return?

She continues: “Well, I believe one’s blessing can come in ways we least expect. It’s never a sin if a man three times a lady’s age comes for her hand in marriage. I believe love grows in different ways in life. It could be through their intimacy in bed or another. Age is just like a life circle that plays in our lives every year, so it’s no big deal. In other words, it’s good for a lady to marry someone who can take care of her family, at least by 50 per cent.
